His bibliography includes works such as Essai sur l'Unité des Sciences Mathématiques, Symétrie et Dissymétrie en Mathématiques et en Physique, and Les Mathématiques, les idées et le réel physique. Military Service and Death
During his final years, Lautman served as a commandant within the Free France and French Forces of the Interior movements. He eventually became an escaped prisoner of war. On 1 August 1944, he died at Martignas-sur-Jalle after being shot by Nazi authorities in Toulouse. His life ended at the age of 36.
Posthumous Recognition
In the period following his death, the French government formally recognized his contributions and military service. In 1946, he was awarded the title of Knight of the Legion of Honour. His legacy is also marked by his receipt of the Resistance Medal and the Croix de guerre 1939–1945.
