Season 21, in progress
America's Got Talent season 21 began on NBC on 2 June 2026 and is scheduled to end on 23 September, the day after this page was published. Terry Crews hosts. The panel is Howie Mandel, Mel B, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell.
The season results table gives Lai Noelle as a 14-year-old singer from Texas, placed in quarter-final three, with her result at the time of writing listed as still to be announced. That is the limit of what the show's own record says about her, and this page does not go past it.
The Golden Buzzer claim
Talent Recap published a running list of the season's Golden Buzzer recipients on 21 July 2026, and Lai Noelle appears on it, credited to Simon Cowell for an original song. The research record behind this page adds that Sofia Vergara also considered pressing hers.
The two sources do not fully agree. The results table consulted for this page does not note a Golden Buzzer against her name. Talent Recap is a trade outlet rather than a general news organisation, and the research record flags that a mainstream source is still needed. Both the claim and the gap are reported here rather than resolved.
What an original song changes
The Got Talent format rewards recognisable material. A familiar song gives a voting audience a reference point and a judge an immediate comparison. Bringing an unheard song removes both, and asks the room to respond to the writing as well as the performance.
That is a harder proposition at fourteen than at any other age, because a teenage songwriter is competing against her own novelty: the risk is that the writing is praised for who wrote it rather than for what it is. Neither source used here describes the song, names it, or quotes any of it, so this page does not characterise it.
How the live rounds work
America's Got Talent puts thousands of auditions through a judges' cut, then a set of live quarter-finals in which the public votes. Acts that survive go to semi-finals and then a final. A Golden Buzzer, if one was pressed, sends an act straight past the audition stage; each judge and the host may use one per season.
Reaching a live quarter-final therefore means clearing a professional panel and being selected for a live broadcast. Lai Noelle is recorded as having done that. What happened in the vote is not in the sources used here, because the season had not finished when they were compiled.

Hacer la prueba de CI →What is documented and what is not
Documented: her age of 14, her home state of Texas, her billing as a singer, her place in the third live quarter-final of America's Got Talent season 21, and Talent Recap's listing of her as a Golden Buzzer recipient credited to Simon Cowell for an original song.
Not documented: her date of birth, her home town within Texas, her family, her school, the title of her song, whether the season produced any further result for her, and whether the Golden Buzzer claim is confirmed by any mainstream outlet. This page is published while the season is still running, and it will be out of date the moment it ends.
